Blue Winter skies

Blue Winter skies

Unfortunately living in Canberra means that I have to be wearing layers and layers of clothing due to the constant windy and sudden cold weather conditions here. So, I decided to write about my winter staples!

1. My quilted leather jacket from Zara is my love. I am usually wearing that as my outer layer despite having quite a lot of outerwear.

2. My velvet A-line skirts are the most comfortable with thick tights/ stockings. I can pair them up with jumpers, denim shirts, anything basically! And they're actually really warm due to the texture of the velvet.

3. My velvet polka dot skinny jeans from Top Shop is my current winter favourite. It's amazingly versatile. I can wear it with anything and it is very comfortable - not too tight nor too loose on me. Yay!

4. My look-a-like Celine bag. Didn't need to think twice when I was buying a similar look-alike to the Celine bag. It's just so easy to use and I can pop all my necessities in there without much fuss!

5. My ankle booooties. Goshh I have too many pairs of ankle booties and I still lust for more. It's a horrible cycle during winter as I love my ankle boots. Currently, I'm loving the strap-on look on the ankle booties.

What are your favourite winter staples?! Remember to layer them all up!

Till next time :) x

that baby butt skin.

Hi ladies! Sometimes I wish that skincare routines are easy peasy but alas, first world problems makes everything so difficult for the perfect routine. All those choices in the market, and the less money we have the more we debate on what skincare we should be buying in order to suit our skin type or condition.

Here are some easy steps for you to identify the beauty products you should be getting.
First off, people should realise that they have two things to take note of when finding the best routine:
i) Skin type
ii) Skin condition

Skin type is whether you have dry or very dry, combination dry, combination oily or oily-very oily skin. This is something that you genetically have and it does change overtime due to hormonal and internal changes.

Skin condition is what type of skin those environmental aggressors or external ways that have changed your skin type. Obviously, the more aggressors you prevent or avoid, the less your skin condition worsens.

i.e. Dehydration, Redness, Pigmentation, Acne, Sun Damage (the list goes on)

So, is there anything you would like to change about that skin of yours? After identifying and understanding all of those, now, your skincare routine formation begins.

Basic Day Skincare Routine

Basic Day Skincare Routine

Just making this clear, this is only a basic day routine that I would recommend for the general public.

1. Cleansing. Using something that is refreshing in the morning is always my favourite especially products with citrus makes me feel more awake.
2. Balance those pH levels. A softener or toner as most know it as, are usually there to balance your skin pH levels but sometimes this is not necessary depending on how fast you need your routine to be and how your skin type/condition is.
3. Layer some S+M (i love this step!). Always layer a serum and a moisturiser before you apply anything else including make up. A serum is consisted of concentrated molecules that will in fact help your skin look brighter and better before applying makeup.
4. SPF lovin'. I find that many people I've talked to prefers using a moisturiser with an SPF. I have nothing against that as that is probably the perfect combination. Either you can use a foundation or primer with an SPF.
No matter what you do, SPF is definitely compulsory in anyone's skincare day routine.

Fun facts about SPF:

A) Every country's SPF rating are different according to their government regulations. So it does not mean that SPF 30+ in an Asian country means it's equivalent to an SPF 30+ in a country such as Australia.
B) Australia has one of the most strictest regulations on SPF (currently up to SPF 50 only) because the government only wants everyone to be applying SPF regardless. SPF 15 in Australia already covers 93% of protection for you.
C) SPF is important in any country including Canada as the sun is obviously everywhere you go, despite the dark gloomy skies or icy cold wind.

Till next time, leave a comment below on your thoughts of a skincare routine or any other questions you have! :) x
